Dr. Klaus Latzel is admitted as Patent Attorney in Germany, as European Patent Attorney before the European Patent Office, and as European Trademark und Design Attorney before the EUIPO.

He has been working in the field of intellectual property law since 1999. Dr. Klaus Latzel gained a wide range of expertise in all fields of intellectual property law in several famous patent law offices in Munich and southern Bavaria. In some of the former offices he worked as a managing partner responsible for his own clients as well as for smaller and bigger clients’ portfolios. Since 2009, he established his own patent law office LATZEL-IP, which is now part of a patent attorney cooperation network. This enables him to support clients on all technical fields with his competence and in a very personalized manner. Since 2010 he passes his experience, especially in the Euopean patent law, as a tutor of the CEIPI basis course (Centre d’Etudes Internationales de la Propriété Industrielle) of the University Strasbourg.

His legal expertise lies in all fields of intellectual property law, and in particular in prosecution proceedings for applying for German and European patents, also via PCT applications, national utility models and designs, national and international trademarks, and community trademarks and designs. Further particular specialties of the work of Dr. Klaus Latzel are opposition proceedings in German and European patent cases and his contribution in infringement proceedings. In this respect he built up contacts to a large network of national and foreign patent and trademark attorneys and lawyers in more than 50 countries all over the world and closely works together with several selected law firms specialized in intellectual property matters. In the near future, he will also be able to assist and represent you in matters relating to the unitary patent and before the European unitary patent court. Any litigation cases or nullity cases we cooperate with selected lawyers in order to safeguard your intellectual property rights or your market position from the very first beginning. His technical qualification acquired Dr. Klaus Latzel during his studies of chemistry at Technical University Munich (TUM). During and after his diploma thesis he worked with the group of Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. W.A. Herrmann at the Technical University of Munich and received his Ph.D. in the field of organometallic chemistry. Thereafter he worked in a PVC polymerization plant in a postdoctoral position until he started his training and preparation for the qualification as a German Patent Attorney and a European Patent, Trademark and Design Attorney. During his training for the qualification as Patent Attorney, Dr. Klaus Latzel worked with the famous Munich patent law firm TBK-Patent and, then, engrossed his mind with a second famous patent law firm in Munich, especially regarding servicing clients in the United States of America and in the field of biotechnology. Thereafter, he also served clients in the field of medical technology and renewable energy plant technology.

Dr. Klaus Latzel speaks German (mother tongue) and English.He is member of the German Patent Attorneys’ Association (PAK), the Institute of representatives before the European Patent Office, FICPI, INTA and GDCh. He is also CEIPI tutor of the University Strasbourg.
